Hart Matthew Bochner is a Canadian actor, film director, screenwriter and producer. He has appeared in films such as Breaking Away , Rich and Famous , The Wild Life , Making Mr. Right , Die Hard , Apartment Zero , Mad at the Moon , Break Up , Liberty Stands Still , Spread , and Carrie . On television, he has starred in War and Remembrance , Children of the Dust , Baby for Sale , The Starter Wife , and Scandal .

Bochner was born in Toronto, the son of Ruth , a concert pianist, and actor Lloyd Bochner. His family is Jewish. Bochner is a board member of the Environmental Media Awards. His greatuncle was Isaiah L. Kenen.
